How to share your faith

  • A matter of life and death

Walk through a large department store and the chances are that you will be stopped by a pretty lady beside a perfume counter; she just wonders if you want to try a squirt of the latest fragrance from Channel or Yves saint Laurent. She’s wearing it herself and she smells great! She doesn’t bother trying to describe the stuff to you, she just wants you to get a whiff of it and, hopefully, splash out on a bucketful.

This perfectly describes your job. You wear the fragrance of Jesus and you waft that odour around with you wherever you go...
  • Just walk across the room

St Francis of Assisi once said, “Preach the gospel, use words if you have to”.  But I am afraid this will not do! Think about Jesus for a moment: if he had remained silent, he would have impressed people deeply but no-one would have had a clue what was going on! Sooner or later we must speak.  So how do we get people to talk about this? And when they do… what do we say?

  • Persuaders, Ambassadors, Reconcilers

There is only one person in a football ground that does not contribute to the scoring of a goal – the guy sitting in the stands, munching his hot dog and screaming at the referee. He thinks he is important, but he is not, all he does is watch and spray bits of hot dog over the people in the next row.

This is your mission, should you choose to accept it… get out of your seat in the stands, walk down the gangway to the barrier, climb over the barrier, get onto the field, and play your part in the team that makes revival happen.
